In this textbook, first of its kind, several issues related to “region”, ‘regionalism”, “nationalism” are discussed. Various aspects of the issue of status of regionalism as a new scientific and educational trend, the general tasks of regionalism, main elements of regionalism and country studies, the essence and directions of regional policy etc. are explained together with the methods of regional studies. This is a sincere endeavour by a couple of scholars and researchers from the Republic of Tajikistan and one scholar from the Republic of Bharat to introduce and share the important pieces of information on this subject to the students majoring in regional studies.
