Despite representing world’s half of the population, women are facing lot of challenges worldwide. Though India is a fast developing country, but here also we see a growth which is not inclusive and is demarcated by the decline in the status of Indian women and their development. Indian women are experiencing and undergoing various problems like discrimination, domestic violence and much more. Ironically after 70 years of Indian Independence the patriarchal mindsets have not changed much. This book contains 19 papers on diverse topics affecting development and empowerment of women in India in general and in Ladakh in particular.
